Hutchly Privacy Policy

1. Overview
Hutchly ("we," "our," or "the app") is a family organizer app. We take your family's privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how it is protected.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication). We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment information beyond what Apple handles for the purchase.
Household Data
Information you enter into the app — family member names, avatars, calendar events, chores, meal plans, grocery lists, and task details — is stored in Firebase Firestore and associated with your household. This data is only accessible to members of your household who have joined using your household's join code.
Device Data
We do not collect device identifiers, location data, or usage analytics beyond what Firebase provides for basic app functionality (crash reporting and performance monitoring).
3. How We Use Your Data
• To provide and sync the app's features across your household's devices
• To send push notifications for events and reminders (only if you enable them)
• To allow household members to collaborate in real time
We do not sell, share, or rent your data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers (Firebase Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Google's security practices apply. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). We do not store your password — Firebase Authentication handles credential management.
5. Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, reminders are scheduled locally on your device and are not transmitted to external servers. Notification preferences are stored on your device.
6. Children's Privacy
Hutchly allows parents to add child family members by name and emoji avatar. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Child member profiles are created and managed by the adult account holder.
7. Data Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated household data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Deleting your account permanently removes your data from our servers.
8. Third-Party Services
Hutchly uses the following third-party services:
• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and crash reporting
• Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — for event reminders
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
